I always compose the best blog posts while I'm cleaning, walking, driving to work, etc. By the time I get to the computer, they are gone. So, here is what has been going on.
Monday, September 7, Lyla's first tooth broke through. I can't believe it. She had been fussy for a few days, not unbearable, just wanted to be held more. She was drooling more than ever and wanted to chew on everything. I was pretty sure I was feeling something, but with this being my first tooth rodeo, I wasn't sure. By Monday morning, there it was. This sharp little thing sticking out of her gums. I think she is now working on her second one.
Lyla is already "crawling". She is moving mobile, but hasn't gotten the arms down completely. I think it will be happening shortly. She reaches and pulls herself to where she wants to go. She will also pull both knees under then shoot off into a belly flop to move about an inch. She gets where she wants to though. The funniest thing is that she will work and work to get to Tank. She'll finally touch him and he will get up and walk off. Poor girl.
All of this has happened before her five month birthday. I can't believe how fast she is growing. I went shopping this weekend with my mom and sister to buy Lyla shoes and some more fall/winter clothes. She has such narrow feet that she doesn't fit in the Target or Carter brand shoes (great....). So we hit up Striderite at the outlet mall and got her two pairs. I'm afraid she is going to be an expensive shoe girl.
Lyla has been coming to the football games. She has a great time. There is so much for her to see and take in. And of course everyone loves to oogle over her! I even found her a navy jacket that I'm having embroidered for her to wear to the games.
Andy and Lyla have been doing great staying home together. Andy has his own routine (he gets mad at me when I mess it up). They have their little schedule and hang out together. He has found cartoons via the internet and they will sit at his desk and watch. They meet people for lunch, play, and enjoy life. I am so glad it is working out so well. Andy is a great daddy. The best part for me is walking in the door and seeing my sweet girl light up because Mommy's home. She makes any bad day better.
Kayleigh, our baby sitter, is also doing great. She loves watching Lyla and says she gets a lot of homework done while Lyla naps. She hates taking money from me, but other than that, she is doing an amazing job. I love that I get to stay connected with her. She was on my team for 3 years and an officer for two. Needless to say, we were pretty close.
So that's whats been going on in the Garcia house. Never a dull moment.

I'm so glad that Andy and Lyla have there thing going now! She's going to look back on this when she gets older and be so thankful for parents who love her.
And the shoes-well, like mother like daughter??
