11 months

Lyla turned 11 months old this week. I am floored. I am in total denial that she will be one year old soon. All of the books I've been reading have started calling her a toddler instead of a baby. What? No, she is still my baby. Lyla's 11th month has been a busy one for all of us. I had contest which meant I had less time with Lyla. Luckily I've been able to spend all of spring break with my sweet girl.

Things to remember:
- Lyla loves balls. In fact that is the only word she says. "Bah". Anything that looks like a ball catches her eye and it's all she wants. Okay well she also says "duhhhckt" (duck) in the bath tub.
- Lyla has back tracked a little on her speech. She no longer says dada or mama. I'm a little concerned about this, but trying to not let it bother me. She does babble all of the time. She sings and blows raspberries and jabbers to herself while playing.
- Lyla still isn't walking on her own, but she is cruising and pushing her walk behind toys. I really thought she would be walking by now, but that's okay. She is just too scared to stand on her own.
- Lyla has started playing with some baby dolls. She will mimic anything. We hug and kiss the baby and help the baby suck it's thumb.
- Lyla has started to get into a little make-believe. She will lay her head down and I'll say, "night, night Lyla" and then she'll pop her head up and smile and I'll say "good morning". She'll do this over and over.
- She has learned to shake her head "no" when I tell her "no-no". Usually she still does what I've told her not to, but she is learning that she isn't suppose to. Her little head shake just makes me laugh.
- Lyla is a bowl of energy. She is laughing and playing all the time. It is so much fun to watch her personality grow. She loves to flirt with men (watch out).
- Lyla loves to swing and play on the slide. She also just learned to lean forward to get herself going on the slide.
- Lyla is a bit of a mama's girl. I am not sure if it's because we don't get a lot of time together during the week, but whenever I am home she wants me in her sight. If I walk away to go to the kitchen or bathroom she will either start crying or cry and follow me. Although it is sweet that she loves me that much, it can get a little frustrating when I'm trying to get stuff done, like dinner.

Wow - almost a year! She is still your baby =) Your comment was so sweet. I feel like God has really given me the blog world to do what I love - preserve memories and encourage others with our experiences. Thank you so much for your kind words! They made my day!
