What floors me more than anything is her ever growing language. The other day she walked into the room with a box and told me, "it's ebie (heavy)." What? Where did she learn that?
Some other new words and phrases....

Lyla still has a huge addiction to Elmo. He is part of our night time routine and I believe she still makes daddy watch it every morning. But at my parent's house she watches Little Mermaid. She loves Flounder, especially when he sticks his tongue out at the shark. (Thanks for teaching my child GREAT manners Flounder). And she refers to Ariel as "A a a a" (she sings like Ariel does). It is so cute. If you ask her what the little mermaid says, she'll sing "a a a a". Or if she wants to watch it, she'll walk up to one of us and sing it. It is so stinkin' cute!
She still has a very independent and strong willed personality like her mommy. This does mean that she isn't always obedient, but she does learn to comply quickly. Usually she'll protest (just like I use to do) and then give in when the answer is still no.
Loves to say, "cheese" whenever we take her picture.

While Andy and I were on vacation, my mom decided to start potty training Lyla. She has been showing interest lately. She use to pee in the tub. Yes, it was part of the night time routine. I think it had to do with the warm water. In way, lately Lyla would start crying in the tub saying, "pee pee". I would put her on the toilet, but I think she didn't like the big toilet. So we bought the Elmo seat that goes on top of the regular seat and borrowed a little toilet from a friend, but we had very little success. Well, while we were gone my parents took Lyla to the store to pick out a toilet for their house, Elmo of course, and some big girl panties (as well as some training panties). Lyla had some small successes with putting the pee pee in the potty, but for the most part she just liked pulling her panties down, sitting on her potty and then pulling the panties back up. Because it's still early, I'm not forcing the potty training issue. We are just letting her do her thing. Some days mom said she wanted to wear panties and others she wanted to wear her diaper. Tonight right before bath time Lyla told me she had to pee pee and she put her pee pee in her potty. I was so proud! It's just crazy and fun to watch my sweet girl grow up.
Lyla loves to take pictures with my iphone. Here is one of her self portraits.

Lyla did a great job hanging out with family for 8 days while Andy and I traveled. (Spring Break post coming soon.)
Silly faces with mommy.

Now we are in planning birthday party number 2.
