Kitchen Remodel

We took our house off the market last summer and since then I've been wanting to do some things around the house to spruce it up. Spending a year without making any changes sure can drive a woman crazy! Several months ago I found this picture of a kitchen on pinterest and was totally inspired!

I showed it to Andy and he was against it at first. (He has a hard time envisioning what something will look like.) So then I decided it would be my birthday present...that way he had to let me do it (hehehe). My parents purchased the paint for the walls, and my wonderful dad painted them. Dad even installed the new bamboo blinds. And by install I also mean making 3 trips to home depot that day! Then I started in on painting the cabinets. I had no idea it would be a 20 hour (spread over a week) process! My hands hurts, my neck and shoulders hurt, it was physically painful. My mom helped me add the yellow accent pieces. Andy finally put the drawer pulls and cabinet knobs to finish it all off! Below are the before and afters!

I can't believe what a difference it has made. I feel like I have a whole new house! Not to mention I now having a growing list of other improvements and "remodels" I want to do to the rest of the house.
