But now for the fun part of Christmas. This year Lyla asked Santa for a new tea set. Sadly mommy broke the tea pot of her old tea set (which was actually my old tea set). So she asked Santa for a plastic tea set so mommy can't break it. Yup, she actually told Santa that. At first we were thinking that was all she would get from Santa, but then Andy and I started talking about a bike. He wanted to get her another tricycle, but the more we talked the more we thought she was ready for a real "big girl" bike with training wheels. Lyla's two neighbor friends have bikes and we thought she would like to have a bike to ride too. I asked her and she said she would. I took her to Walmart to test some bikes out. I couldn't get the girl off of them. She literally wanted to ride every bike they had. But she did find her favorite one! Baby blue with flowers on the seat. But she was worried that Santa wouldn't know that she wanted a bike, or which bike, so we wrote him a letter.
Christmas Eve as I was putting Lyla to bed she was really worried that Santa wouldn't bring her to right blue bike.
Needless to say she was very excited when she woke up Christmas morning to find the perfect blue bike under the tree. Santa even knew to bring her a helmet. Lyla had a blast opening presents this year. So different from only wanting to open one present every half hour last year.
Andy's mom, brother, sister and grandmother came over again for a late breakfast and gift exchange and then Lyla and I headed into town to visit my parents and sister. All in all it was a nice Christmas. We just wish daddy had been feeling better.
And now this is what she wants to do all day, every day.......
