Whirlwind Weekend in Houston

My sweet and beautiful cousin, Madison, made her high school's dance team and we've just been dying to go see her perform. Just a side note...Madison is like my mini me. She has my same stubborn, hard headed, my-way-or-the-highway personality which of course makes her smart, talented and extremely hard working. :) My mom found a weekend where my football game didn't conflict with hers and thus the road trip was planned.

Thursday, September 22, we left right at the football game and made the long drive to Sugarland. I had a brilliant plan of traveling late so Lyla would sleep, and then we could all sleep in before heading to Round Top on Friday. Needless to say the best laid plans always fail when a 2 year old is involved. Lyla slept great in the car and then woke up when we arrived at my aunt Robin's house at 1:30AM. Lyla was so excited to be there it took until 3:30AM to get her back to sleep. Then I had to get myself to sleep. Being up since 5:15AM the morning before made for one long day and one grumpy Aubrey the next morning.

We got up Friday morning and made another drive to Round Top. (Again some bad planning. I didn't know Round Top was 2 hours from Houston....long story....) All I have to say it is Round Top is SO.MUCH.FUN! I just recently got into pinterest so I had a goal to find some fun items to make these ideas come to life! It was hot, but a blast. I can't wait to go back. And Lyla did great for not having a stroller with us.

The best part was the $1 drinks from 4-7PM. Everyone perked up with that!

Saturday we made our way to my Aunt Renee's for lunch and family time before Madison's game. Lyla ran around chasing her second cousins and the dog. She wanted to be every where they were. The game...boring. The performance...amazing! So proud of our little Maddy.

I absolutely love our family time and we had a blast, but boy where we tired when we arrived home on Sunday!
