Our Halloween/Fall festivities were so much fun this year. Just the fact that Lyla is older and gets it made it much more fun. We started with a trip the the Medina Pumpkin Patch in mid October. We took Lyla last year and had such a great time that we couldn't wait to go back. Lyla wasn't in the best of moods, but we had fun none-the-less. She wasn't too into feeding the animals, but she loved painting the pumpkins. Lyla and Mommy also took a ride in the barrel train and she had a blast! If it wasn't for the long lines she probably would have rode it several more times. Mommy was also able to purchase her fairytale pumpkin. (I saw them last year at the end of the season and have been dying to have one for my fireplace).

We then stopped off at Granny Medana's antique shop where Lyla entertained all the employees.

And finished up the trip with a stop at Dairy Queen for some lunch and yummy ice cream!

Lyla's costume this year went through many changes. First we thought she would be a frog. My sister purchased a frog costume last year at the end of the season, but it ended up being too small. Then we thought she would be Cinderella. My friend Amy hand-me-downed a cute little costume, but Lyla said it was too itchy. This happened the morning of the dress up day for Story Time with my parents. Luckily she had her dance clothes with her, so she went as a ballerina. That's where my mom got the idea of Angelina Ballerina. Which of course meant Andy and I were on a search for mouse ears and tail. I finally found them at the 4th store. Mom lucked out. She was one store away from having to make ears and a tail.

Halloween night we got together with our friends the McEllhannon's and the Crosses. This was Lyla's first trick-or-treating experience. She loved that every door she went to she got candy. She would proudly show me yummy treats! As I watched my little Angelina Ballerina walk down the street collecting candy I couldn't help but almost get tears in my eyes. I just love watching her experience new things. I think I had more fun experiencing Halloween through her than I ever did as a child. Not to mention I got to partake of her candy!!!

I still cry at everything the boys do. Why do they have to grow up anyway?
