So I really thought with the summer I would have more time to blog, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't have time. I just am so far behind that I have been to afraid to even start a post. So here we go...getting caught up!
June was an incredibly busy month. I had 3 camps for my teams and taught a 2 week title 1 dance camp to middle school kiddos. I think I had like 4 full days off the entire month! In the midst of all of the dancing, we had some fun.
The month started with Lyla's first dance recital. I really didn't want to pay all the recital fees her first year because lets be honest...what all is a 3 year old going to do on stage? But her class was a father/daughter dance! Yup, couldn't say no to that. Lyla got her costume in March and wanted to wear it every day since. Her recital was smack dab in the middle of my officer camp, so I had to sneak away for a couple hours to make it. Lyla and Andy were so cute! I am thankful it ended up being a father/daughter dance or Lyla would not have gone on stage. All in all she had a blast.
Lyla and my mom came up to dance team camp in Brenham on day two. I needed a ride home (as we charter up)so they came to hang and spend the night. Lyla had so much fun being with the big girls and spending the night in the dorm!
The rest of June was spent with some time at the pool with friends,
Hanging at Sea World,
Checking out Fiesta Texas
And a fun trip to the San Antonio Children's Muesum.
At the end of June we took a little family vacation to Lake LBJ with my parents, sister, and my mom's two sisters and their families. I love going to the lake. We've always been beach people but with Lyla's adversion to sand, we started going to the lake. We've got the boat, so why not? I think I totally prefer clean water to salt water. We had the best time! Lyla loves hanging with all her cousins (second cousins technically). She played in the water and ran around in the grass. Cousin Maddy even hung out inside the house when the fire works went off. My cousins had a blast tubing and knee boarding. My dad and Andy loved pulling everyone. It was such a fun and relaxing trip....so much so that I didn't take very many pictures. :( Oh well, sometimes it's better to be in the moment than to capture the moment.
