Birthday Weekend started with making cupcakes on Thursday night. Lyla was a BIG helper.
She helped open the cupcake liners.
And she was great at licking the beaters.
Friday morning we were suppose to go to the zoo but the rain kept us at home. Which wasn't so bad. We had a relaxing morning and after lunch celebrated with a birthday cupcake.
Lyla wasn't quite sure about the candle.
But she loved the icing and cupcake.
She loved putting it every where.
After all the cupcake eating, Andy headed to Austin for our friend's Michael and Sarah's wedding and Lyla and I headed to my parents house. My parent's got Lyla a sandbox for her birthday. Lyla was not to enthused about it. You see, Lyla hates to get dirty and she saw the sand as dirt. She cried whenever she put her feet in the sand. And when I tried to sit her in the sand, she would hold her feet up in a Pilate's ab workout pose. It was hilarious. Saturday morning my mom put a towel down in half the sand so that Lyla wouldn't have to sit in the sand. This helped, but she still wasn't too excited about playing in the sand. We'll keep trying. (Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of Lyla's sandbox experience).
Lyla spent the night again at my parents while I headed up IH35 to meet Andy at the wedding. Sunday we got home and let Lyla open up her first gift from us...a bubble maker.
She loved it. It was funny watching her become amazed as the bubbles came out of the whale and then float away. It was the perfect way to end Lyla's birthday weekend. Tomorrow we have to take her to her doctor's appointment. Boo for shots!

It makes me laugh that Lyla doesn't like to get dirty! All my boys do is get dirty..haha, I guess that's one of the differences between boys and girls. :)
