Finally the Easter Post

It has been crazy around here, as usual, so it's taken my a while to have time to upload pictures and the write this.

One of the things I love about being a teacher is having holidays. I was so happy to have Good Friday off. Thankfully TEA hasn't decided to do away with all Christian holidays. We spent a relaxing day at home. If I remember correctly, it might have been raining, but that was two weeks ago, so who knows. That night Andy and I went to the movies to see The Bounty Hunter. It was cute, but more importantly it was nice to get out on a date.

Saturday we got up and headed out to Llano, Texas with my parents and grandparents. My grandfather's side has family from Llano and his sister, my great-aunt Billy, use to own property on the river that she sold to her children and therefore we still get to use. Luckily my mom stays in contact with her cousin-in-law. My grandparents had been wanting to drive out to see the bluebonnets, and Andy had never been out to the property, so we figured this was a perfect time to go. The drive was beautiful! Bluebonnets littered the sides of the highway. Oh how I love the hill country. We arrived and picked up Coopers Bar-b-que (I have to say it wasn't as amazing as I expected).

After lunch the boys (my dad and Andy) went down the the river to fish. My mom and I took Lyla down to play next to the water (the water was FREEZING still) and get some sun. Lyla was a little fussy, but finaly enjoyed sitting on the edge and slapping the water. It was a wonderful and relaxing afternoon.

Can you tell someone is in need of a nap?

Sunday we went to church and then came home to finish cleaning up before everyone came over. We decided that having our families come to us was a lot easier that packing Lyla up to do the rounds. It ended up being fabulous. Andy's dad and girlfriend stopped by on their way to comfort. Andy's mom, grandma, brother, sister, step-sister and cousin came as well as my parents and sister. We made burgers and enjoyed watching Lyla open all her baskets. I think she ended up with 4. She got a ton of cute outfits and more balls to play with.

All in all it was a great Easter weekend.
