It's been a while since I've blogged, so I thought I would get caught up on what Lyla has been up to. She is talking like crazy. It just amazes me how much her vocabulary is growing. Daily she is adding new words and phrases. The way she says things is just so darn cute, and some of the things she says incorrectly I choose to not correct because I know it won't be like this forever. Here's just a few things she is say...
"opie" - open
"ba-bing suit" - bathing suit
"Big Watie" - swimming pool
"one....three...." - 1,2,3 jump (she always leaves out the two, but she can say two)
"Let's go mommy"
"Bubbles"
noise - music or when she wants to sing on the microphone
We started working on counting the other day and she can get from 1-10 almost unassisted. Of course she still leaves out the number two. I don't know why, but we always go from one - three. Silly girl.
Lyla loves singing. She was walking around the house the other day singing "clap your hands, stomp your feet." I didn't even know where she learned that from until I asked my mom. Apparently she sang it at story time 6 weeks ago. It's amazing what kids retain. She also loves to sing Head and Shoulders, I'm a little Tea Pot and Itsy Bitsy Spider. (Currently she is singing along to Elmo's World).
Lyla is no stop movement. She loves to color, draw, sing, dance, play with bubbles and get chased around the house. She still loves to swing and asks to go to her swing several times a day. Lyla loves to swim. Last year she wasn't too thrilled with the pool. This year she is in love with the "big watie". She love to jump of the side and play on the stairs. I think her and I will be pool rats this summer and that is fine with me. I have always loved to be at the pool.

Potty training is still going well. If she is in her big girl panties she will be real good about going to the potty. I've tried transitioning to pull ups when we are out of the house instead of diapers, but she seems to think they work the same. She is good about telling me at restaurants that she needs to go potty, but sometimes she just wants to play in the restroom. We've had to discpline for not being truthful about having to go potty. I told Andy once I'm done with summer camps we are going to hit potty training hard core. I know it will go easily. I'm just mainly worried about car rides. Any where we go is about a 30 minute drive and I'm terrified of accidents in the car seat. Any advice I'll gladly take.
We are also talking about moving Lyla into her toddler bed when I'm done with camps. We figure once we hit potty training hard, she'll need to be able to get out of bed on her own to get to her potty. I'm afraid this will be a difficult process once she realizes she has the freedom to get out of bed.
Lyla continues to amaze me every day. I continue to find each new stage fun and exciting. I love her personality and drive. She is a determined little thing and smart as a whip. She doesn't let anything get past her.

Oh my gracious, Lyla is SO stinkin' big! This stage seemed to fly by for me. The boys turned into little boys overnight.
I have a few suggestions on potty training/big girl bed:
1. Try taking a potty seat in the car with you. That way if she needs to go potty, you don't have to find a place to potty.
2. Use a cuff on her door once you get into the bigger bed. Those things were my best friend.
3. You're going to have to spend some time right next to her door that way you can immediately put her back in bed if she gets up (or just let her play by herself till she falls asleep).
