One Crazy June!

As always, my June has been crazy. I got out of school on June 3rd, and left for my first camp on June 5th. Came home on the 8th, only to leave again for the next camp on the 10th. Came back again on the 13th and left for a fun visit with my friend Tessa in Dallas on the 16th. Came home on the 18th (sick as a dog) only to leave again for my last camp on the 22nd. I never even unpacked my toiletry bag the whole time because it just wasn't worth it. I truly felt like I came home to do laundry, clean the house, and repack my suitcase.

But it has been fun. My officers and team did great at camp. I'm really excited for next year. My team has a lot of energy and are hard working. And I sure do love spending time with my dance staff buddies. My mom was so sweet to watch Lyla a lot during my camps and she even brought her up to two of them that were close by. Lyla even got to swim in the hotel (even though the first one was impromptu so she swam in her panties).

One tired director.

Crazy officers (this is what happens when you leave your phone with them)

My trip to visit Tessa was WAY over due. We hadn't seen each other in two years. In fact, I think Lyla was about 2 months old since the last time we got together. Since then Tessa had a little boy, Luke, who was about to turn one. It was definitely time for a trip. Lyla and I loaded up the car and hit to the road; just two crazy girls. It was a long drive, and I heard a lot of "mama's" on the way, but over all Lyla did great. She even told me 3 different times that she had to pee pee and we were able to stop and go in a "big potty."

We had a blast with Tessa and baby Luke. We went swimming and to a splash park. (Of course I didn't take any pictures...boo). Lyla had to learn to share toys, but over all she did well. She was very good with Luke. Concerned when he cried; picking up his sippy cup when he dropped it. It was so nice to spend some time catching up with my sweet friend. I sure miss talking to her. We even got to do some sunbathing in the backyard, while the kiddos napped. It was like the good ole' days.

Cool Girl getting ready for the splash park.
Sweet baby Luke.

The drive home was quite rough. It started off well, but an hour into it I started to feel sick. I even pulled over once thinking I was going to throw up. Luckily my sweet parents started driving towards me to help me get home. We met in Belton and my mom took over driving. All was going smoothly, minus the stomach cramps, until we hit just north of Round Rock. There was some major accident that put the entire highway at a stand still. After an hour of a screaming 2 year old (who never slept the whole drive), we decided to off-road to get off the highway and pulled into a Denny's to eat. An hour later the highway was still blocked off so we took some back roads to by pass the traffic. 9.5 hours after I left Dallas we arrived at my parent's house, where we decided to stay for the night. I am so thankful that my parents were willing to help me out. I don't think I could have made that drive by myself.

Now, I'm home and ready for a week of relaxation followed by a trip to Lake LBJ this weekend.
