5 years ago this past weekend Andy and I moved in to our first home. It was a huge blessing! We didn't have plans to purchase our first home yet, but God stepped in and provided a beautiful little house on a quiet cold-a-sac with a great loan to help us buy our home. We actually closed on the house in December and then spent 8 straight days painting and doing other small "remodeling projects" to make the house our home. We then spent an entire Saturday moving everything in, unpacking and getting everything just so. (Yes, I unpack every box and hang every picture on the wall before I go to bed. I'm weird, but by the next morning my home looks like we've been there forever.) San Antonio and Boerne then got hit with a major freeze. Andy and I were stuck in our house for 2 days! I guess you could say we got very acquainted with our home!

5 years later we are still in our sweet little home. 18 months ago we put our house on the market, but after a year of trying to sell, we realized God's plan was for us to stay here. I have to say I am thankful! I'm thankful that God new some upcoming finances in our lives and protected us for getting into a yucky situation. I'm also thankful that I'm still in our first home. It will be hard to give up a home where we've made so many memories.

I'm also thankful for some renovations we've made to make this tiny house more comfortable. Switching Lyla's room and Andy's office has made a huge difference! The water softener!!! All I can say is wow!! My clothes are softer, my dishes don't have spots and my hair feels soooo good! And Andy is finally putting in a storage in our backyard which will really help with space.

Yes, 5 years later I'm very thankful to still have our sweet little home! (I'm also thankful to NOT have another freeze!)

That freeze was the weekend Peter got married! We were lucky to pull it off, since we were almost all stuck in Austin. :)

This is such a sweet story! Stuart and I have not had the ability to live in one house/place more than 18 months at a time (thank you Air Force!) but we're hoping to make our current house last much longer!
