I spent Friday night and Saturday morning sanding and repainting my sister's old glider that she is giving us on loan. Now I'm just waiting for a friend of Autumn's to return the cushions.
We also purchased an area rug that matches her bedding beautifully. Thank you Jon and Emily for the gift card which allowed us to buy the rug.
Today my mom came up to Boerne to see the nursery. We decided to go shopping to put together a bulletin board. This simple little project turned out to be quite intensive. It took my mom, Andy and me 3.5 hours and included the use of staples, glue, nails, screws and hammers. But, the end result is exactly what I wanted. The bulletin board has brought in some more color and femininity (which Andy is happy about) as well as added more bears to the room.
We still have a lot of work to do and a long list of "to do's", but I am feeling much better about having the room ready before Lyla arrives (in 13 weeks).
Here are some pictures of the progress.
Here's a view of the glider and new rug.
My beautiful shelf that I painted and Andy installed.
My cute little corner shelves that started off white, but I decided I needed to repaint blue. The white just didn't look right. I also have two corner shelves that Andy put in the guest bathroom. (I just love corner shelves)
A close up of the bulletin board.
Here I am enjoying the nursery. I can't wait to rock Lyla in the glider.
