Lyla listens to music

Although Lyla is pretty well versed in music already (she can't help it when her mom teaches dance all day long), she got her first taste of classical music last night. Andy decided to put some head phones on my belly and play music for Lyla. She listened to some classical symphony, Andy McFee (an amazing guitarist) and some opera. It was so funny to watch her react to the different styles. She was calm during the classical music. She really liked Andy McFee. She started squirming around and kicking the head phones. She responded most to anything upbeat and fast. I don't think she knew what to do with the opera. The men's voices she didn't like so much, but Andy found a boy's choir and this little boy (who sounded like a skilled soprano) was singing and Lyla went crazy. I like to believe that since it sounded like a girl she was reacting to the high notes, and not that she is already boy crazy.

Here's a picture of Lyla's experience. Not my best picture, but it was the end of the night and I am still battling a nasty cold.

And a close up. You might not be able to tell, but the bellybutton has officially popped. This happened this past weekend right around the beginning of my 30th week.
