Houston Trip

This week my mom, Lyla and I went to Houston to visit my mom's two sisters and their families. I had to teach the camp activities at the ShowMakers camp in Houston, so it just made sense to make a trip out of it. My mom has been doing this girls trip for a couple of years. This was Lyla's and my second time to tag along.

We spent 3 days hanging out with my Aunt Robin and Renee and their kids. We got there Tuesday and went straight to Robin's house in Sugarland (after I did the camp activities). We visited, enjoyed mojitos and had dinner with everyone.

Then we headed off to Renee's house in the Wilcrest area of Houston. We spent two nights there. My Aunt Renee has this gorgeous pool in her back yard. We spent all of Wednesday poolside. We even fell asleep sunbathing. It was fabulous and relaxing.

Lyla had so much fun in the pool. She played on the platform step, jumped off the side and kicked, kicked, kicked. She even put her face in the water! I was so proud, and relieved that she had such a good time.




Thursday we hung out at Renee's house, visiting and relaxing before we had to get back in the car and drive back home.

Lyla had such a blast hanging with her second cousins. Carson and Jackson allowed Lyla to tag along and hang out. They even spent time playing with her. I think she learned so much by interacting with some older kids.

I caught her just lying there laughing watching the boys play ball.
