Then the hard part. Nurse Allison came in to give Lyla 4 shots; two in each leg. Not surprisingly, Lyla was not happy. She screamed and cried crocodile tears. It took her some time to calm down. They gave her some Tylenol and told us to give her a dose of Tylenol every 4 hours for the rest of the day to help with the pain from the shots. We came home and Lyla slept for 4 hours! She woke up and I started to feed her when suddenly she started crying uncontrollably. I gave her more Tylenol but nothing helped. She cried for 45 minutes. She would stop crying long enough to catch her breath and then started up again. It was not fun. The rest of the day went much better.
Lyla slept a lot, including sleeping through the night. It was fabulous and scary. I woke up at 3:00AM to pump and figured Lyla would be waking up soon. Then I woke up at 7:00AM and freaked out. My sweet girl had not woken me up yet. I checked the monitor, it was turned on. But wouldn't I hear her anyways. I went into her room and rested my hand on her chest. Relief! She was sleeping soundly. An hour later she woke up. I would love to think that this is the beginning of sleeping through the night but I really think it was a combination of the exhausting day and several doses of Tylenol.
Below are some pictures from a little photo shoot my friend Yvonne did. She came up to school at the beginning of June and took some pictures of Lyla in my office. Her is a sampling. (The pictures are small because I pulled them off of her facebook. I haven't gotten my cd of them yet).

You are too sweet! Thanks, I did start WAY early! Your Lyla is just getting cuter and cuter. I just want to squeeze her! We should get together for lunch or something.
Ah, Tylenol...it's such a good thing! Glad you survived shots! The pictures of Lyla are so sweet. I can't believe she's already two months old.
