Friday night Andy and I took Lyla to the Kerrville Rodeo to see our dear friends Kallee and Troy. Troy works for the rodeo as a cowboy. He is the guy who helps the cowboys in the bare back horse riding. He then runs the show the rest of the time. Kallee does barrel racing. She is awesome. We arrived just in time for the rodeo to start and go to visit with Kallee while we watched Troy do his thing. Man he is good with a horse. (Troy is the one on the right.)
Grandpa Tomy (Emma's new "owner") stopped by to say hi before he went back to work.
Then we took a walk outside to get some air and watched Kallee get warmed up for her big event. She rides a big horse!!!
Lyla decided to take a short nap. Of course it was right when Kallee was running barrels. She did a great job! She had the fastest time, but unfortunately she knocked down one of the barrels. That's okay. Kallee is still our hero and is going to teach Lyla to ride when she's older.
Saturday morning we got up to take Lyla to her first parade. The Berges Fest parade in Boerne.
We picked up Laura, Travis, Grant and Jake on our way. They are some sweet friends who live down the street. The two boys adore Andy and refer to him as Handy Mandy. Love it!
The boys had a blast picking up candy from the people in the parade and we even got to see some of my girls who are on the Miss Helotes Court. They were the prettiest and best dressed I might add.
It was a great time. I love small town living. I can't wait for next year when Lyla will be big enough to join in on the candy scramble!
