Two Months Old

Lyla turns two months old tomorrow morning. At this time two months ago I was in the hospital with intense contractions. It is amazing to me how much Lyla has grown this past month. She is doing so many things.

- She is talking all the time. She talks to herself and to anyone who will listen.
- She is holding her head up so much that she can now sit in her bumbo.
- She has found her hands and is very fascinated by them.
- She is doing much better at belly time.
- She doesn't need to be held as much. She doesn't mind lying on her back looking around and talking.
- She is sleeping longer at night and is going right back to sleep after eating.
- She has started drooling like crazy. It seems like she is teething, but it's too early and we aren't seeing any signs of teeth in her gums.
- She is reacting to people, smiling back, laughing and talking when she is talked to.
- On June 14th, Lyla rolled from her tummy to her back. She did it twice on the 15th as well.
- On June 15th daddy got her to hold her bottle herself. She didn't last long, but she did it.

Lyla is the joy of our life. She amazes us every day with everything she does. On Wednesday she goes to the doctor for her first round of shots. We are looking forward to seeing how long she is and how much she weighs now, but we are not looking forward to the shots.

I found my thumb. Daddy wasn't thrilled, but he thinks I look cute.

I'm holding my bottle by myself.

Hello Minnie Mouse.

Watching the world from my window seat. This was the first time I sat in my Bumbo for an extended period of time.

Me and My Boys said...

Shots are actually much worse for the parents than the kiddos. Both boys did great for me-they cried at first of course but quickly recovered and then I was the one in tears. Tylenol given about 30 minutes before the shot helps but really just a good cuddle does the trick.
I can't believe she's already two months old!
