I had my first dance camp this week. The military and social officer and I started camp at the Omni in the Colonade on Sunday. The girls did a great job. I have been so impressed with their leadership, initiative and drive. It is going to be a great year! They are 10 of the hardest working girls, and boy are they full of energy. They inspired me! I am so proud of their dedication to our team and to their willingness to push themselves as dancers, leaders, and young women on a daily basis.
On that note, it was very difficult to leave Lyla. She was still asleep when I left on Sunday, so I didn't really get to say goodbye. I did sneak into her room to give her a gentle kiss. This was my first over night away from her and Andy's first time to fly solo over night. I think he did a great job! She did wake up more often, but he said she went right back down. I was very thankful that Monday he brought Lyla up for a 3 hour visit in the afternoon and then once more in the evening before he headed back to Boerne. I was happy to see my sweet girl. Although, it was hard to say goodbye. Part of me thinks it would have been easier had he not brought her, because I was doing okay until I saw her, but the other part of me knows I couldn't have gone 3 days without loving on my girl!
Tomorrow I leave for my team camp, but Lyla is coming along...with the help of my mom. I am so glad she will be babysitting so Lyla can tag along. I just hope everything goes smoothly. We are "sneaking" mom and Lyla into the dorm so we don't have to pay for her. Cross your fingers we don't have a screaming melt down at night. Can't have the dorm mom hearing her.

Good for you for leaving Lyla! I mean, I know you didn't do it to go out and have some fun but you did it and everyone survived!
Good luck this week. I'll be praying for calmness from Lyla, patience for your mom and energy for you!
