4 month check up

Lyla had her 4 month check up today. She weighs in at 12lbs 3 oz (25%) and is 24.5 inches long (50%). She is "petite" as Dr. Wood put it. Dr. Wood said she was still doing fine even though she put on less than 2 pounds in 2 months. She was very impressed with Lyla's motor skills. She confirmed what I thought. Lyla is moving along quickly. She was shocked that she is already rolling both ways and scooting. She told us to be prepared for an early crawler. Looks like I'll be purchasing all the baby proofing items soon.

Dr. Wood also recommended starting cereal just to get Lyla use to the texture. She explained that we should not depend on it for calories as she is still getting everything she needs from my breast milk. She just said to start trying it when we feel ready. And in about a month we can start playing with other baby food items. She said this experimentation was one of her favorites times as a mother.

Lyla had to have her 4 shots again today. Not fun! She screamed, of course. She cried for a good 5 minutes after the shots. Andy said she did okay during the day, but was still fussy. It was a vast improvement from her 2 month check up when she woke up from her nap and screamed bloody murder for 45 minutes.

I can't believe my sweet little baby is already 4 months old. The time flies by so quickly!
